grid planter

planters that help their plants grow

Now more than ever, plants are a primary decorative tool within the home, providing a friendly, natural atmosphere. However, many planters are simply a vessel for the plant, allowing it to grow until it has reached the limits of the pot’s confines, and then requiring re-potting into a new, bigger planter. For vine or runner plants in particular, which have quick growth cycles, small planters are often quickly outgrown, and the flimsy branches require frequent trimming.

The Grid Planter provides vertical growth for vines and runners, both giving them structural support, and allowing them to extend beyond the size of the planter. It also reduces required plant maintenance, by allowing the plants to grow into naturally beautiful shapes, and lessening the amount of pruning required of the user.

simple shapes provide pure form

The Grid Planter is made from bent and welded mild steel, powder coated to allow the piece to be used in indoor or semi-outdoor conditions, such as on a porch. The glossy white allows the plant to stand out against the pure frame, making it the primary focal point of the piece.

Grid Planter

a real piece of furniture

At three and a half feet tall, the Grid Planter goes beyond the average decorative piece, becoming a true item of furniture in the home. Studio Knacks hopes to create a range of products in the future to accompany the Grid Planter, including a watering can, grow lights, etc. These items can be hooked onto the gridded trellis, creating one unified plant-aiding system.
